Description
Join the Untamed Alchemist for this 3-hour workshop making aromatherapy tea light candles, perfect for stuffing stockings and sharing as hostess gifts! You'll be creating aromatherapy candles to take home and enjoy or give away as gifts/sticking stuffers. There will be four pure essential oil blends to pair with corresponding colored beeswax (white, ivory, red, or green). You can choose to make five of each or mix and match.
We'll begin by discussing the essential oil blends available for your use in this workshop as well as some other perfect choices for aromatic candles. We'll talk briefly about each blend's aromatic profile and subtle energy before we give you a chance to experience each blend's fragrance (sniffing! hurray!). Blends for candles will include a Spice Blend including Sweet Orange, Cinnamon Bark, Clove Bud, and Nutmeg (red candles) and a Winter Woods Blend with conifers, pines, and Cedarwood (green candles).
If we get the time, we'll throw in a Candy Cane Blend--pure Peppermint.... yum! (white candles)
There will also be a few surprises to make your candles and candle-making experience exceptional!
Before you create your aromatherapy candles, we'll talk briefly about candle-making in general. Then, we'll melt and color the wax and add the corresponding aromatherapy fragrance blend. Combined, they'll make an aromatic beeswax for you to pour into your tea light cups!
This workshop provides a very basic introduction to aromatherapy and candle-making. We'll provide all of the supplies including the wax, pre-tabbed tealight wicks, candle dyes, tealight cups, and premium essential oil already blended in holiday appropriate scents. You'll come away with approximately 20 aromatic tea candles and a basic understanding of the subtle energies associated with the oils and blend(s) you selected. We'll also provide printed recipes, a resource/shopping list, and basic candle-making information for takeaway so you can continue to create more candles after the workshop.
Registration must be made in advance so we can plan for supplies and set-up. There's no need to print or bring a paper ticket--we'll confirm with registrants and provide further details (including directions) prior to the workshop.
We will refund cancellations in full up to 48 hours prior to the workshop. With less than 48 hours notice, cancellations will only be refunded at 50% to cover our supply purchases.
NOTE: To allow that the candles may completely cool and set properly, participants may have to leave their candles at the workshop location overnight; in that case, they will be available for pick-up the following day or thereafter.
