Session 6: Make-Up Air & Tight Homes

The 2012 International Residential Code calls for some significant changes. Do you know how they will impact your designs? Come hear about changes that you may need to make to your standard and practice as a result of these new regulations. This session will cover potential issues with and solutions for combustion air requirements for gas appliances, operation of open hearth fireplaces, exhaust ventilation for dryers, kitchens and baths, and more. Learn how the new air tightness standard is intertwined with these issues.

2. Explain combustion air requirements for gas appliances.

3. Understand how envelope tightness affects the operation of open hearth fireplaces, exhaust ventilation for dryers, kitchens and baths.
