Join Connect the Dots' arts educators, Andrea and Selina, on a lively and engaging tour of a selection of artworks at the Pah Homestead Gallery.

Make Moments is an Auckland-based programme that works to connect and engage older people, and people living with dementia, with the rich and diverse art and cultural opportunities Auckland has to offer.

Tea, coffee, and home baking are provided at the end of each tour for a koha of $2 per person which is returned to the charity, and participants are given a postcard print of each of the artworks discussed on the tour.

What can I expect on the day?

We sit together around 1-2 artworks over the course of the tour. We share ideas about the works, what they mean to us, and anything else that we notice. You can expect engaging conversations, in a beautiful and stimulating environment. We will then have a shared morning tea with homemade baking, tea, and coffee.

You will receive postcards of each of the art works we looked at together to take home.

Who can come along?

It is designed to give our older people an opportunity for a relaxed viewing and conversation around art, however, if that is the experience you are seeking then you are welcome to join us.

What do the tours cost?

We are generously funded by The Wallace Foundation which means these tours are free to participants.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of free parking at Pah Homestead.

Dogs?

Yes! Connect the Dots' Make Moments programme comes with two therapy foxies. They will be kept on a leash at all times and are very friendly.

What's the cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours notice of cancellation. This means we have the time to offer your space to someone else who may want to come.

If you book six tickets of more, you are considered a group. Any groups cancelling with less than 48 hours notice will be charged an $80 cancellation fee.

How do I pay my koha?

For individuals we require cash on the day. For organisations or centres we can invoice after the workshop and supply a receipt.

Do I need to know anything about art to join?

Absolutely not! There is no previous knowledge or experience required, it is an informal and relaxed atmosphere where all opinions are respected and encouraged.

Can I take photos?

Yes you can take photos during the tour. We will also be taking photos as part of documenting our tours. Photo permission forms will be provided on the day. If you are not comfortable with your photo being taken please let us know.

How long is the tour/workshop?

The morning tour and workshop will last for 1.5 hours.

Do I need to be physically mobile?

Pah Homestead is accessible for all levels of mobility. There is a lift and an automatic side entrance for wheelchairs and walkers. The entrance and surrounding sculpture garden is relatively flat.
