Make a Canvas Bucket Bag

Make a Canvas Bucket Bag

By Cannon Valley Makers

Overview

Make a fantastic, durable bag that everyone will want.

Come learn to sew a cross body canvas bucket tote. We'll be using standard sewing machines to create this versatile, fun tote that you can use as your everyday bag or as a fiber project bag. It would work as a small tool bag or gardening tote, too. Make one for yourself or make them for friends!

All materials will be provided. We have several sewing machines but you are welcome to bring your own -- it should be tuned up and ready to go. Basic competency on a sewing machine is a prerequisite. We'll offer another class soon for brand new sewers.

If you plan to use your own machine, please let us know so we can accommodate more people in the class (we have 6 machines).

Ages: Adults and teens.

Cost: $50 (materials included). Members receive 25% off - check your CVM e-mail for the code.

All proceeds support Cannon Valley Makers - Nancy is donating her time to support CVM.

Instructor: Nancy Miller grew up in Faribault but raised her 4 kids in S Minneapolis where she taught herself to sew next to the giant furnace in the dank, dark basement. She recently moved Elko to a new house that needs (*needs!) swathing in millions of yards so SR Harris fabrics sees her weekly. She sells her creations in cool stores around Minnesota and at local artisan markets. You can check out her work on Instagram at @thrifty_sewing. This is her first class with CVM and we are thrilled to welcome her.
