Intended Audience:  Ranchers, rural residents, non-profit organizations and agencies responsible for maintaining and improving generally unpaved roads accommodating resource management, residential and recreational users.

Workshop Objectives:
    Provide landowners and land managers with information on:

  • Cost effective road management practices
  • Prevent road failures or impaired functioning
  • Reduce future maintenance costs
  • Minimize environmental impacts of roads
  • Improve driving safety and comfort

Workshop Topics:

  • Fundamentals of Rural, Low Volume Roads
  • Geologic and Soils Conditions Affecting Roads
  • Stream Crossings
  • Road Assessment Methods
  • Road Management and Maintenance
  • Permitting Requirements
  • Sources of Technical and Financial Assistance
