By Mailchimp

Date and time

Location

The Invisible Dog Art Center

51 Bergen Street Brooklyn, NY 11201

Description

Failure in software companies is not only inevitable, it's often romanticized. But in reality, failure sucks. How can we avoid unforced errors and learn the most from disaster? Three senior leaders from local software companies will give talks and hold Q&A exploring technical and organizational failure.

  • Tanya Reilly, Principal Software Engineer, Squarespace. "Nobody Could Have Predicted This"

  • Gordon Radlein, Director of Engineering, Etsy. "Certainty of Failure. Small Chance of Success. What are We Waiting For?"

  • Frantz Joseph, Senior Engineering Manager, Mailchimp. “Customer Hardship and Corporate Transparency: Lessons from a Really Big Outage"

Drinks and snacks at 6p; first talk at 6:30p.

This event is hosted by Mailchimp's Brooklyn office.

We're holding the event at the Invisible Dog Art Center's main gallery, which has accessibility info here. If you need captioning, a sign-language interpreter and/or other accommodations, we'll set that up. Email merridith@mailchimp.com to let us know what will let you participate comfortably and fully.
