Event description

Description

Drugs can be dangerous. But does banning them cause more harm than good? Come along to learn about the impact of drugs on Maidenhead and whether legal regulation could better protect our community?

Join the discussion about what a new approach to drugs could mean for Maidenhead, your family and your community. This will be followed by a question and answer discussion.

Speakers include:

Anne-Marie Cockburn, whose 15 year old daughter Martha died of an accidental ecstasy overdose.

Rose Humphries, who lost two sons to accidental heroin overdoses.

Jason Kew, Chief Inspector with Thames Valley Police, passionate about protecting the most vulnerable and challenging the stigma attributed to addiction.

Hosted by Jane Slater, Deputy CEO of Transform Drug Policy Foundation and Anyone's Child Campaign Manager.

This is a free charity event but donations will be gratefully recieved.

This event launches our 'Week of Action to End the Drug War'. Other events include "Walk a Mile in Our Shoes", a fundraising walk along the Thames Path to raise awareness of the harms of UK drug policy, and a mass lobby of parliament to call on MPs to end the drug war.
