The Magpie Kids' Hootenanny is a six week one hour class that gives parents and kids the opportunity (birth to age 4) to engage in music. Facilitator Matt Heaton leads this fun, community-minded program with such ease that you might not know how 'good for your kids' it is!
Research shows that children learn music best in an active setting, with teachers, parents and siblings as role models. Above all, our Matt's considerable experience as a music teacher, professional performer and parent shows that kids love music (and learn it the best) when it is fun!
The Monday Morning Hootenannies (9:45am - 10:30am) feature a mix of familiar and new music. Kids and parents sing, dance and play simple instruments, empowering everything to join in and helping to pave the way to make at home as well. Everyone--even the youngest music-makers--have the ability to learn melodies and rhythms. The Hootenanny is a perfect stress-free place to learn and play!
Classes begin on Monday November 7 the last class is on Monday December 12.
