Come and gather with men and women from all over the valley. We gather four times a year to share a meal, sing, pray, and hear the testimony of one person who will share how God has worked in their life. In this way we MAGNIFY the name of the Lord and honor Our Blessed Mother.
For this meal come hear Esther Reyes Ramirez tell her story. Not everyone’s journey with God happens in a church, Esther’s journey had been rooted with her very own mother and The Blessed Mother. Come hear her testimony from the perspective view of a migrant family. Her journey back to the church and to her catholic roots were stemmed by many hardships in life and experiencing many tragedies soon after. For the past four years Esther has been the Treasurer for the Phoenix Magnificat Chapter in Phoenix, Az. She has been an active Vincentian for the past 18 years and steadily volunteers in many aspects for her catholic faith. Esther has worked at St. Helen’s Catholic church located in Glendale as an admin assistant in the youth ministry as well as the Called to Protect Instructor. She also held a chair for a short time at St Jerome’s in Parish Council and assisted in starting the Spanish line for the St. Jerome’s St. Vincent de Paul conference. Esther is currently working with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul as a case manager to homeless adults over the age of fifty and disabled persons at Ozanam Manor Transitional Housing.
Born and raised in Phoenix; Esther attended South Mountain Community College where she began a nursing degree, then shortly after she completed training with the Bryman School and received her diploma in Medical Office Management. She returned to school and attended Scottsdale and Phoenix College to engage and begin her social service studies.
Esther and her husband Raymond live in Glendale and are the proud parents of their three grown adult sons. Raymond and Esther recently started a non-profit thrift store located in Sun City. It is through their love of Christ and his beloved Mother the ever-Blessed Virgin Mary that they assist families with hardships for rent and utilities. Esther’s upbringing is an inspiring story of a struggling family and the search for understanding the love Mary offers through her son, Jesus
Bring a friend, neighbor, or maybe a relative who doesn't go to church anymore. They may not go to church with you, but who doesn't love to go out for lunch?! Magnificat is often a way back to the church.
