Description

What: Magical Drum Experience - Portland, Dorset

When: May 3rd (optional), Full day may 4th and 5th

How much: £215
(Includes 2 nights accomodation in shared room, if accomodation is not needed then the price goes down to £155)

Imagine welcoming the sun, in a secluded cove full of white pebbles, drumming as it rises into the sky and the gentle waves lap the shore.

Imagine gently treading the land, wandering along coastal paths - staring out to sea, stopping here and there when the feeling takes you to drum -to the sea, to the land, to yourself.

Imagine reaching what looks like the end of the world - the breeze and waves endlessly lapping the cliff side. Imagine finding a spot - looking out to the horizon, perched on the rocks and drumming your wildness, letting go and letting the waters cleanse you.

Imagine spending time in fields, in ancient lands, among sheep and horses and drumming on the edge of cliffs as the sun makes its journey below the horizon.

Now, imagine a sisterhood, walking every step with you. Each with drum in hand. Imagine sharing food and creating sacred space, leaving offerings to the land as we journey along

This magical drum experience takes place 3rd-5th May 2019.
Join us for dinner and drumming, if you wish, on the Friday night.

We will gather Saturday in Melonie's Accomodation in Portland, opening sacred space, before travelling the land for the day. We begin by visiting Church Ope Cove and its ruined church that has been used by witches for eons.
Then we travel the land, alongside the coast down to the edge of Portland where the waves relentlessly crash against the rocks.

We will stop for lunch at the Pulpit Inn, by the Famous Portland Bill Lighthouse.

There will be time for you to explore yourself and we will drum the sunset on the cliffs in Southwell.

The Sunday will see us welcome the sun in Church Ope Cove and perhaps traverse to Chesil Beach to drum in the wild sea air where the waves are taller than you!

And later we will travel back to Weymouth beach, to close our circle and make our way back home.

The ticket price above is for the magical drum experience.

Please note that accommodation is included in this price for Friday and Saturday night, food and travel are your responsibility. If travelling from London trains leave from Waterloo, Clapham Junction and Paddington. If staying on Portland there is a local bus from Weymouth to Portland for less than £5 return and taxis are around £15.

You will need to bring your own drum and beater, I sell drums if you would like to buy or commission one or birth your own with me before the event - get in touch. They take a week to be ready to play.

There will be quite a bit of walking, this will be at a leisurely pace. most of the time we will stick to roads or coastal paths but sometimes, such as at the edge of Portland, there are some rocks and gravelly pathways to navigate. As a group we will support each other here. Church Ope has many steps down and back up again. It is beautiful and worth the effort!

You may want to bring a small backpack on the journeys with snacks and certainly water/drinks.

Please note: Accommodation is in a house Melonie has rented. We have the whole home but rooms are twin and this is included in this ticket price. Airbnb and Booking.com have many spaces to stay on Portland and in Weymouth should you wish to have more of your own space.

Fee: £215
Without accomodation £155

You can pay in installments but must settle full payment on Friday 3rd May or Saturday 4th if you join us then.
