Event description

Description

What is it? A weekly league multi-player constructed Magic game using the Explorers of Ixalan boxed set.

When does it happen? Every Sunday at 3pm

Where does it happen? Round Table Games at 128 Main St., Ste. A Carver, MA 02330

What does it cost? $5 per session (possibly discounted based on attendance and where you are on the Magic leaderboard)

What do you need? Construct a Legacy-legal deck of exactly 60 cards with no sideboard using the following rules

  • You must include at least 20 creature cards

  • At least 3/4 of your creature cards must share, or support in some way, a single tribe.

  • No more than 1 mythic rare card

  • No more than 6 rare cards

  • No more than 2 copies of any non-land cards

How does it work? The emphasis is on tile exploration but this is still a game of Magic .

  • You must acquire a 1-cost tile before you can attack another player

  • Each 1-cost tile allows you to attack either the player directly to your left OR the player directly to your right. You choose when you acquire the tile.

  • Each 3-cost tile allows you to attack a player 2 spaces away, left OR right. You choose when you acquire the tile.

  • As soon as you acquire a 6-cost tile you can attack anyone and be attacked by anyone.

  • If there are no more available tiles for a particular cost, that cost tile rule is no longer in effect.

  • You get 1 victory point for each tile you claim and 3 extra points for winning the game

What do you get? Each week everyone gets one pack, and 1 pack per pod gets added into the end-of-league prize pool. At the end of the month-long league the top 2 players based on points split the prize pool roughly 60/40%.

1 Quest card punch. Get 10 punches on your Quest card and you can use it for $5 off any paid tournament or event. (see http://www.roundtablegamesma.com/#!reward-programs/c1yi0 here for details)

Chivalry points (1 point for every $ spent including the session fee). These can be saved for free drinks/ snacks or discounts on products. See details here.
