"It’s time we acknowledged that every responsive web design project
is also a content strategy project." —
Karen McGrane, A List Apart, Nov 2013

Responsive design is the talk of town, but for most people, the talk focuses on the design and technical aspects. To some extent, that's practical, responsive design is the practice of having one website that adapts to the device it is being viewed upon. Or, more simply: one website for all screens.

However, responsive design isn't only about the behind-the-scenes HTML and CSS or the visual design. Responsive design can have a major impact on your content and content strategy. Content strategy is an important part of creating a responsive website. But Responsive Design is not a content strategy and won’t fix your content problems.

Clarissa Peterson, a web/UX designer & developer. She has 10+ years of experience in user design, content strategy, project management, front-end development, and more. She has managed websites at various nonprofits in Washington, DC., including the Library of Congress, AARP, Fannie Mae, and the Leadership Conference on Civil & Human Rights. She's also worked for Ralph Nader.

Clarissa will lead this Google Hangout and discuss responsive design, content strategy, and content priority. This hangout will give you an overview of what responsive design is, and what you need to know as a content manager when you work with responsive websites. No technical knowledge required. The Hangout is free and open to the general public.
