Description

What's a GrUE?

A GrUE is a participant-driven, self-organizing, kinky, sex-positive unconference. Instead of imposing a firm schedule with classes set in stone, presentations, discussions, skill shares, or fun explorations are generated and led by the attendees.

Be prepared for a day filled with energy, exploration, connections, and discovery. The GrUE brings you the opportunity to learn, grow, share, discuss and explore topics that you're passionate about.

What are you passionate about?

Past GrUE topics have ranged from gender, dominance/submission, rope, taboo play, impact play, polyamory, LGBT, feminism and kink, negotiation, and anything else that you want. You can be as specific or as broad as you want because anything goes at a GrUE!

What you get out of a GrUE depends on what you put into it! What can you teach? What do you want to learn?

Current Schedule

Friday, 17th July 2015

Meet & Greet | 6:30pm - 9:30pm
This is a casual meet & greet (munch,) where we're just getting to know the people we'll be spending the weekend with. This is not a play party - it's a cocktail party at a public venue, with a chance to start conversations and express interests that will be manifest the next day.

Saturday, 18th July 2015

GRUE | 10am - 6pm (Doors open at 9:00am!)
It's very important that people arrive on time - the entire day is shaped in the first 1/2 hour. While latecomers will still enjoy themselves, they will be cheating themselves out of the full GRUE experience.

Lunch will be provided, but there is no lunch "break."Also, it is best if participants plan on staying at the GRUE the entire day, until the Closing Circle at 6pm.

AfterGRUE | 8pm - 12am
This is sort of like a party...but different, just as the GRUE is sort of like a conference, but different. Admission to the AfterGRUE is limited to GRUE participants and their partners - general admission is not allowed.

Sunday, 19th July 2015

GRUEcake Brunch | 10am - 1pm
Graydancer dons his kilt, seizes his spatula, and begins making his World-Famous Cheap-Ass Pancakes.

Carbs & Coffee are guaranteed, but if you want any of those fancy extra things like bacon & eggs, it's Bring-Your-Own-and-Gray-Will-Cook-It.

It's a great time to unwind from the intensity of Saturday, continue the connections, discussions, and yes, even the classes from the day before, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Bonus Event! SMTR Rope Jam | 1-3pm
Local rope group Show Me the Ropes (SMTR) is hosting their monthly meeting as a skillshare/rope jam from 1-3pm at the same venue as the GRUEcake brunch, and is open to the public (signed release required, please contact ABMann for details.)

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

You must be age 18 or over to attend the GRUE (no alcohol allowed.) Also, you MUST provide a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport) to be able to attend the event.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is a small parking lot at the main venue, plus ample street parking, but please carpool whenever possible! The event is also located on a bus line, with a bus stop one block from all three of the venues.

Wait! Where IS the event?

A few different places. Please check your registration confirmation email for the exact locations of the meet & greet, GRUE proper, AfterGRUE, and GRUEcake brunch.

Are there any rules or restrictions for the event?

Most everything will be explained at the event. The main venue (for the GRUE and AfterGRUE) does prohibit fire and excessively messy play as a part of our contract with them.

Cell phone use and photography will be restricted during the event. Keep an eye out for an upcoming announcement for details.

Please check the footwear you plan to wear to the main venue -- if you have shoes with spike heels, please make sure the rubber pads are still attached, and if your shoes are known to leave black marks on the floor, please leave them at home. The flooring at our venue is sensitive to marring/marking, and expensive to replace!

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Feel free to contact Seikatsu or Graydancer with your questions!

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. We will have a guest list at the door.

What is the refund policy?

A 50% refund will be abailable for cancelled registrations until 12:01am on June 16, 2015. After that time, no refunds will be available for cancelled registrations.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

No. For legal reasons, your registration information must match your photo ID.
