Description

Since 1981 Barbara Evans has owned and operated the Wedding Cake Connection located in Peoria, Illinois, offering custom designed wedding cakes. Barbara is the owner and designer of the Stable Mabel Cake support System including the new disposable kit.

In 2008 Barbara earned the title of Certified Master Sugar Artist from the International Cake Exploration Societe and has served as a Certification Adjudicator. She is also a past Show Director & Board Member for ICES. In 2013 she was awarded the ICES Wilbur Brand Service Award.

A sugar art instructor, Barbara offers a variety of classes including: buttercream, fondant, gumpaste flowers, stenciling, chocolate, gingerbread, string work and run sugar. In 2017 she joined the faculty of French Pastry School in Chicago. Barbara has five online video classes with Sugar Ed Productions.

Barbara’s work has been shown in several publications including: Cake Craft & Design, American Cake Decorating, British Sugarcraft, Chicago Brides, ICES & Florist Review. She has also been successful in the competition world, placing in several shows including: OSSAS, National Gingerbread Competition & TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off.

This exciting talk and demonstrations will focus on the basics of chocolate and will feature chocolate desserts for attendees. All guests will sample 10 different types of chocolates over the course of this exciting evening!
