Intoxicated Patron(s) Policy
Visibly intoxicated patrons who arrive for a tour departure will not be admitted to the bus and will receive no refund. Arriving to one of our tours intoxicated will only result in the patron becoming more intoxicated which is is not conducive to the type of atmosphere we're creating with our tours.
Patrons who become visibly intoxicated on our tours may be cut off from further beer, wine, spirits, etc. If is our goal to provide a fun, safe and educational experience and those patrons who are slurring their words, stumbling, etc will impact not only their stafety but others safety and enjoyment of our tours.
It is important to note that this has RARELY been an issue but it is important to state our expectiation before guests arrive for our tours.
***Our Bike Tours are easy paced and designed for your comfort and relaxation. Tours do include light exercise and require physical fitness and some cardiovascular stamina. Some routes share the road with motor vehicle traffic and although are designed to be the safest possible, you must be comfortable being passed by auto traffic.*** The Route is 12 miles round trip.
Due to the many events that are held in the area in the summer, the public parking lot may be closed. Do NOT park in Machinery Row's parking spots, you will probably be towed. They only have 6 spots for their business.
There is street parking in the neighborhoods several blocks to the east and there is a parking ramp 3 blocks to the west on Wilson Street (Government East Parking Ramp).
Green Cab at (608) 255 1234 has bicycle racks on their vehicles.
What if it rains?
We will ride rain or shine. In the event of extreme, dangerous or absolutely miserable weather we will either reschedule the tour or provide a full refund.
We will not cancel a tour based on the forecast during the week leading up to the tour. We will make our decision based on the radar at 8 am the morning of the tour. If we cancel, we will call and email the people who made the reservations. Make sure you check your email or be around your cell phone 2 hours before the tour in case the cancellation call goes out.
We do ride if it is a chilly out so make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
Are Helmets Required?
Due to our insurance obligations, we must require helmets on our tours. If you don't own a helmet, Machinery Row Bicycles has offered to loan them at no cost.
What kind of bicycles are appropriate for this tour?
Bikes in good working order are a must. We recommend bicycles with gears for most people but some people are comfortable riding their fixed gear or single speed bikes.
Please don't dust off a bike you haven't ridden in years and hope that it will make a 12 mile bike tour. If you do have a bike that you haven't used in a while, we recommend wiping of your chain with a clean rag and applying bike chain lubricant as well as inflating your tires to the appropriate pressure. Otherwise, a tune up at a local bike shop is a great way to detect potential problems that might affect your enjoyment of a bike tour.
Our guides will be familiar with simple bicycle maintenance such as changing a flat tire, getting a chain back on track, etc. in case someone needs a hand.
What should I bring?
Rain jackets or windbreakers and light gloves are great items to bring into a backpack. Backpacks are also useful if you plan to fill or buy growlers or merchandise along the tour.
Water bottles are highly recommended.
A helmet is required. If you don't own a helmet, you can rent one at Machinery Row Bicycles for a small fee.
Is it possible my tour will get canceled?
Madison Brewery Bike Tours require a minimum of 3 people to run. If we don't reach 3 people by 9 am the day of the tour, we will cancel the event and either refund your money or transfer it to another event of your choosing.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be 21 to attend our events and you must have your state issued ID, the breweries may ask you for them and refuse you service if you are without, regardless of how old you appear.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
To ensure there is no confusion about your reservation, it is recommended you bring a printed version of your ticket. If you are not on our reservation list and don't have a printed ticket for the tour you're showing up for, then we consider you not a booked guest.
What is the refund policy?
Hop Head Beer Tours reserves the right to cancel an event and if so, your reservation fees will be refunded either to your credit card or by check. If you are unable to make a tour you've paid for, you may transfer you reservation to someone of your choosing or to a future tour/event. There are no refunds within 14 days of the tour.
