CLASS INFORMATION AND POLICIES

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Nora Kaschube
Nora is a 2007 graduate of the French Pastry School in Chicago with a L'Art de la Patisserie degree. She owned a dessert catering business — Four and Twenty Blackbirds — for six years and also taught pastry classes during that time. Pastry and art are her passions in life, and what better way to bring them together than beautiful French desserts!

REGISTRATION: Registration will close a minimum of three days before the class date.

TICKETS AND ADMISSION: No tickets are issued for classes. Your name will be on an attendee list in The Kitchen. Admission to the kitchen will begin at the scheduled class start time.

FORMAT: Classes will be demo-style, hands-on participation or a combination of those two styles. During the hands-on classes, attendees will work in small groups for portions of recipe preparation. You will be standing or sitting at high-top tables and working for most of the class.

ALLERGIES/SPECIAL NEEDS: The Lenexa Public Market and demo kitchen is not an allergy-safe environment. Common cooking and baking ingredients used in classes may not be specified in class/menu titles. Food allergies and/or special needs must be stated in detail on the registration form. Best efforts will be made to accommodate those allergies and needs when known in advance. Recipe adjustments cannot be made during classes.

REFUNDS: If you cannot attend a class for any reason, notify us at least three days before the scheduled class to request a refund of your registration fee or a transfer to another class. You are welcome to send someone in your place if you are unable to attend a class and the refund deadline has passed. Please let us know in advance so the registration list may be updated along with any allergy information. All classes are subject to rescheduling or cancellation (which would result in a full refund). Recipes and ingredients are subject to change based on availability.

PARKING: Free parking is available on-site in a City of Lenexa parking garage.

FOOD/DRINK: Featured recipes prepared in the class will be sampled. We will have a water station available in the kitchen. Other beverages are available for purchase in the Market.

EMERGENCY CONTACT: Emergency contact information must be provided on the registration form for all participants in kids/teens classes. Parents will be required to sign in/sign out minors. Additionally, parents must provide contact information for other individuals authorized for drop off or pick up.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS: All equipment and ingredients for the class are provided. Coat racks will be available for jackets and purses. If perishable items purchased at the Market need to be refrigerated, please notify the class instructor or Market attendant when arriving for the class.

PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE: Please come to class prepared to have some fun and learn a few tips. Group interaction and socializing will be part of the classes, but please be respectful to instructors and fellow attendees to help ensure everyone has a great time.
