About this event

Made in Europe: Generating the ecosystem of trustworthy AI innovation

We are pleased to invite you to attend the Future of Life Institute’s event “Made in Europe: Generating the ecosystem of trustworthy AI innovation”. We have some great speakers joining us, including Kilian Gross, Head of Unit at the European Commission, as well as Laura Caroli, Senior Policy Advisor at the European Parliament.

It will be an informal event, bringing together policymakers, civil society, industry, and academia, to reflect on the AI Act as a historic milestone, as we turn to making implementation and enforcement a success, while ensuring that Europe continues to lead AI governance globally from home and on the international stage.

With elections looming in Europe and beyond, AI's growing significance in our information systems underscores the urgency for Europe to convert its legal principles into actionable practices. As you know, this demands continued collaboration between policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders to establish a trustworthy AI ecosystem, bridging governance and innovation, to drive the uptake of beneficial AI across diverse sectors, including health, manufacturing, agriculture, and education.

The event is operating on an invitation basis, as we have a limit on capacity at the venue, and it will not be recorded. It will be in-person at 18:30 on 16 May at Atelier 29 (Rue Jacques de Lalaing 29, 1000 Bruxelles). The format will be a panel discussion, then a short Q&A, followed by an aperitivo and drinks reception.
