Greenwich House Pottery is pleased to announce MADE IN CLAY, an Annual Handmade Holiday Sale taking place in our charming 1928 brick walk up at 16 Jones Street in the heart of Greenwich Village.
This sale presents a diverse range of ceramic works including functional pottery, sculptures and other small objects perfect for gifts or keepsakes during the holiday season. With over fifty participating artists, MADE IN CLAY offers one of the largest, most diverse displays of ceramic crafts in the Manhattan area. Wine and deserts are available to compliment your stroll through Greenwich House Pottery’s building.
Every artist in the sale holds a unique story, detailing their progression working in clay and the styles they find attractive when creating mugs, bowls or figurative sculptures. Leading up to MADE IN CLAY is a series of short interviews shared through our MADE IN CLAY Facebook page, highlighting each artist’s fascination to the ceramics material and participation in the sale.
Coinciding with MADE IN CLAY on the first floor is the Jane Hartsook Gallery exhibition featuring Tom Jaszczak and Maggie Finlayson. Finlayson builds earthenware vessels that emulate minimalist forms and quiet personality. Jaszczak creates wheel-thrown vessels that accentuate the use of line, form, and primary colors, gesturing towards the function of each piece.
