Have you ever wondered about the life of a jockey or race horse? Now is your chance to find out! Enjoy the luxury of limousine transportation to Canterbury Race Park. Maddy, your guide for a behind-the-scenes Canterbury Park tour, will take you inside the paddock where she'll explain how to size up the horses for betting. You'll watch a race from the Winner's Circle and even get to be in the photo with the winning horse. Then you'll get to meet some pony horses up close while you enjoy live music. After the excitement of the second race, you'll be taken upstairs to view the Hall of Fame, watch as Paul Allen (voice of the Minnesota Vikings), calls the fourth race and ask him some questions. Finally, watch two more races while enjoying a complimentary hot dog and pop. After the sixth race, we will head back to Erik's Retreat in Edina where you can get another behind-the-scenes look at our guest accommodations. The best part is that you'll be supporting Maddy's dream job of sharing her love of horses. It’s a win-win.
Erik’s Ranch & Retreats provides safe and unequaled living, working, and social recreational environments for young adults with autism. Please note that due to the cost of each tour, Erik’s Minnesota Adventures requires a minimum of four guests registered in order to proceed with a tour. We reserve the right to cancel tours 48 hours in advance due to low registration. All guests will be notified by email should a cancellation occur. Our tour guides take their jobs seriously and it is disheartening when tours are cancelled unexpectedly due to low volunteer participation. In addition, we allocate financial resources to each tour and incur lost funds when unscheduled cancellations occur. Therefore, we request that you cancel your registration for tours no later than 48 hours in advance (phone number will be provided in confirmation e-mail). We understand that emergencies occur and appreciate the earliest notice you can provide regarding cancelations. Thank you for your understanding and support!

When & Where
Madison (Maddy), an energetic and accomplished equestrian, eagerly shares her knowledge and horse expertise. As a tour guide, she shares information about caring for and racing horses. Growing up on a ranch in Colorado—much like Erik's Ranch—Maddy discovered an affinity for horses where she learned to ride, groom, train and care for a variety of breeds. While in Colorado, Madison was a member of Pony Club and she competed with her horse, Aragorn, in English riding competitions. She is also a graduate of Minnesota Life College.
