Event description
Learn how to make your own DIY macrame plant hanger!

About this Event

This workshop teaches the ancient practice of knot tying. Originating from 13th-century Arabic weavers, macrame has been adopted by many craft makers across the globe! We'd like to carrying on the tradition of using our hands to create beautiful works of art while conversing and building community with others. The macrame hangers, in a sense, honor and display the plant of your choice, while also creating a cozy, down to earth aesthetic in your home.

All participants will receive:

  • Scissors
  • Cord
  • A hoop, tape
  • Working board for the macrame
  • A pot
  • Soil
  • A succulent for the planting.

We begin by measuring and cutting the cord, attaching it to the loop, working on the board and tying knots according to the instruction until complete. At the end we pot our plant and insert it into the masterpiece that has been created. Everyone takes home a work of art, a plant, and a new skill!
