Mac & Brews Fall Festival at The Amp at Sam Michaels Park

About this Event

Mac & Brews is the newest festival at The Amp in Sam Michaels Park! Join us for a day to enjoy Bluegrass and Country! Plus, sample delicious mac & cheese, beer & wine, arts, crafts, & vendors, kids activities and more!

The Woodshedders - The Woodshedders are an Indie Roots band boasting four all-original studio albums and performances at hundreds of festivals and shows. The band consists of Dwayne Brooke on guitar and vocals, Fiddlin' Dave Van Deventer, Jesse Shultazaberger on drums, Jacob Smith on Saxophone and Keys and Randy Ball on bass. The Woodshedders bring lyricism and musicality to fun, danceable shows that swerve through Honky-Tonk, Gypsy, Appalachian, and Vintage Rock n' Roll.

The Gypsy Ramblers - The Gypsy Ramblers are a five-piece acoustic band who play a blend of gypsy, jazz, 'dawg', and blues music. The repertoire is a mix of instrumental and vocal songs, more than half of which is original material written by the band. The group features Matt Robinson on mandolin, Jeff Kauffman on guitar, Bill Unger on bass, Butch Sanders on percussion, and Lavinia Reid on violin. Influences include David Grisman, Joe Craven, Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, Irvin Berlin, Louis Armstrong, to name a few, and the sound is reminiscent of these artists.

The Hillbilly Gypsies - Hailing from the beautiful Mountain State of West Virginia, The Hillbilly Gypsies have been making and performing their own brand of old time bluegrass and original mountain music for over a decade! Formed in 2001 from a chance meeting at the now infamous Wednesday night old time jam in Morgantown, WV; The Hillbilly Gypsies have been pickin' n’ grinnin' and entertaining their loyal fans ever since. The band is best known for their high-energy live performances and have become a crowd favorite at major festivals, fairs and concert venues all across the mid-Atlantic region and abroad. They perform in the old fashioned style, playing around a single vintage ribbon microphone. This "Old Timey" approach adds an authentic high-energy barn party atmosphere to their show. Watching the whole band work around the mic is like taking a trip back in time. It'll sure make you want to get up and dance!

Copper Canyon - Copper Canyon Bluegrass is a collection of musicians that have an amazing connection to each other and their musical likes and desires. This is immediately apparent when you see them perform as one single unit producing some of best covers of the best Bluegrass Music has to offer. They perform songs from Traditional Bluegrass through the latest Newgrass as well as covers of artists like Marshall Tucker, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and many others.

The evening will end with a concert from Country Music artist Bucky Covington. Bucky Covington’s self titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He went on to become the best selling debut artist of 2007 and delivered three consecutive Top 10 singles to country radio (“Different World”, “I’ll Walk”, and “Good To Be Us”), and a total of six charted singles. In addition to competing on the fifth season of American Idol, Bucky’s national television appearances have included Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly!, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show and Fox & Friends. Bucky’s recent singles include last summer’s feel good tune “Buzzin”, and “Drinking Side of Country” (duet with Shooter Jennins), which reached over 2 Million views on YouTube in only 2 short days following its premiere and features cameos by country stars Kellie Pickler, Shooter Jennings, and other celebrity friends.
