BIG COUCH IMPROV WORKSHOP
Whether you know a little or a lot about improv, you can meet and connect with others and learn improv in New Orleans together. This session focuses on listening, supporting, and giving gifts.
This special session is connected with the Lysistrata Comedy Festival so this space is open to persons who identify as women.
Given this is an outdoor event, it is subject to cancellation due to weather within one hour of the event.
Please register to help us get a headcount, but you are welcome to just drop-in at any point during the hour and a half event! Also, we recommend bringing your own folding chair if you feel you might want to sit at any point.
To support the health and safety of our community, COVID-19 vaccination is required. We will check this upon arrival at the drop-in. Masks are optional. Additionally, we will discuss physical contact at the start of the session so that those that wish to maintain distancing can have that respected.
As part of our mission, Big Couch NOLA wishes to build a collaborative foundation upon which people can create. Collaboration flows from shared values, ground rules, good will, and transparency. To that end, we expect to conduct ourselves by and have performers and workshop participants adhere to Community Standards (see link below), which we believe represent positivity, common sense, empathy, and acceptance.

Carrie Moulder fell in love with improv in 2015, has performed and taken classes either in person or online with theaters in seven states and three countries, and is a co-founder of Big Couch, an improv-centered endeavor promoting creativity and comedy in New Orleans.

Birthed from the minds of four comedians and writers comes the Lysistrata Comedy Festival. Lysistrata was able to gather women together and use unconventional means to stop war. Well, we posit that we can change anything for the better with a little female ingenuity. Join us as we celebrate women and the power of our collective work, and take over New Orleans for three days of nonstop comedy!
