Historical Walking Tour of the downtown area of Lyon Township and the New Hudson Cemetery!

About this event

Come on a walking tour through the 1800s and 1900s in historic New Hudson/Lyon Township where you’ll learn of the beginnings of a stagecoach stop that is now the oldest building in the county. Hear about the people, buildings, types of businesses and the local community of the past on this exciting tour. The tour includes a respectful visit to the New Hudson Cemetery to learn about the two revolutionary war veterans buried there, the Civil War soldiers laid to rest and the families that first settled this area. Step into the past at the former BonARose building and view artifacts found at the New Hudson Inn during restoration work. Your tour guide is Jennifer Redfern Seiler, local author and historian.

This will be a 3-hour tour starting in the parking lot of the New Hudson United Methodist Church at 56730 Grand River Ave and will end at the Whole Hearted Winery were you can participate in a wine tasting and visit with Jennifer in a Q&A session.

This tour will happen rain or shine. Wear good walking shows and be prepared for the weather of the day. Bring a flashlight or lantern if you’d like.
