Event description

Description

Join us at the SEG Hub on October 10th from 6:30-8pm for a Town Hall meeting about lyme disease innovation. (and network with the social enterprise community)

Lyme is the most widespread vector-borne illness in the U.S.. Rhode Island has the 4th highest incidence in the country- the disease is epidemic but the human ecosystem response is fragmented. Innovations in patient education, awareness, provider training & connection between groups working on Lyme are needed.

At this event we are convening advocates, researchers and innovators focused on solutions to Lyme, specifically in the arena of patient and provider education and on reaching unreached groups at risk.

The Panel

  • Dr. Jennifer Adelson-Mitty, infectious disease specialist
  • Dr. Christine Procaccianti, Pharmacists, Green Line Apothecary
  • Emily Levy, MBA, inventor, founder, Mighty Well
  • Enid Haller LCSW, PhD, founder of lymeinnovation.org & Martha's Vineyard Lyme Support Group

The purpose of this gathering is to listen, and to connect. We will be asking for specific audience members to come forward and give 1-2 minute pitches for their work in lyme detection and prevention as well. While we may reference the ongoing debates on ‘chronic lyme’ and lyme treatment, the focus is solely on innovative approaches and ecosystem connections.
