Let's Grow Lyft Chicago
on the West Side
Ridesharing is growing quickly in Chicago, offering a new way to get safe, affordable rides in all parts of town, and a new way for local drivers to earn meaningful income by providing a valuable service to their own communities.
Join us next Wednesday, March 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bethel New Life with Alderman Emma Mitts, the Lyft team, and current drivers and passengers to learn more about how ridesharing is benefitting our city.
We'll have refreshments and light bites to eat, and you can apply to drive right at the event. Parking will be available on-site.
Apply to drive at lyft.com/drivers.
Download the Lyft app at get.lyft.com to try your first ride.
Who's eligible to drive?
You must be at least 23 years old and have your own four-door car (2000 or newer) in good working condition. You must own an iPhone or Android in order to use the Lyft mobile app. We’re looking for friendly, community-oriented drivers who love meeting new people. In order to be approved, you must pass a phone screen, an in-person meeting and background & DMV record checks.
What is Lyft?
Lyft is your friend with a car. Drivers are matched with passengers who request rides through the Lyft iPhone or Android app. Drivers are screened with DMV and background checks, and Lyft's platform has a first-of-its-kind $1M per occurrence excess liability insurance policy. Once a ride is complete, passengers are prompted to pay seamlessly through the app.
