Our next Lunchtime Seminar is on Thursday 13th June and the theme is 'Embracing Diversity and Tackling Hate Crime

About this Event

PBNI has a focus on embracing diversity and working collaboratively to tackle hate crime. This seminar will outline PBNI’s approach to tackling Hate Crime and embracing diversity.

Stephen Caldwell will outline the development of PBNI’s guidelines on hate crime, the accepting differences intervention and their work with partners to tackle hate crime.

Area Manager Ian McGlade will introduce a preventative and early intervention project demonstrated by students from Shimna Integrated College. This project resulted in the production of a DVD aimed at embracing diversity and promoting an integrated community. He will emphasise the importance of working with young people at the earliest stages in order to build understanding, acceptance and to challenge prejudice within society.
