Event description
Join us for lunch with psychologist Sarah Bren as she leads a discussion on how to cultivate healthy relationships with your children

About this Event

In this 90 min lunch & learn workshop, you will learn about ways to foster healthy and respectful relationships with your children.

Join specialized psychologist, Sarah Bren, as she leads a discussion around effective parenting skills related to communication, boundaries, discipline, and helping your children manage their big emotions all in hopes of promoting confidence, competence, independence, and kindness.

During this time, we will address how to:

  • Handle a child who acts out or has tantrums
  • Integrate respectful and effective discipline
  • Cultivate foundational parent/child bonding
  • Use basic caregiving routines as opportunities to connect with children rather than sources of conflict and power struggles
  • Set expectations that lead to more satisfaction and less frustration
  • Navigate through sibling conflict
  • Develop a language for talking with children that creates secure attachment, linked to positive mental health outcomes later in life
  • Foster independence, curiosity, and self-directed play & learning in children

Though this workshop may most benefit parents of infants and toddlers, the lessons may be applicable to those with older children, as well. We welcome all to our community and look forward to meeting you.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Registration required. Limited capacity.
