Wednesday, 10/18, 12:30-2:30
Austin Beer Garden Brewery
Come out and learn about Feeding The 5000 Austin - an event to raise awareness about food waste and demonstrate feasible solutions such as food recovery - taking place the next day.
Suggested donation of $5-10 will benefit Slow Food Austin and Little Herds. ABGB will have a special lunch option available for attendees in addition to their usual menu. 1:15-1:45 - Fireside Chat with Danielle Nierenberg of Food Tank, moderated by RNA of Little Herds.
Feeding The 5000 Austin will take place the next day, on Thursday, 10/19 at the Texas State Capitol South Lawn in Austin, Texas from 11am to 2pm, and is a free, family friendly event open to the public. At the event, a delicious, free meal will be served to thousands of people, sourced entirely from fresh, quality produce and other foods that would have otherwise gone to waste. The event will also feature supplementary activities, including cooking demonstrations, remarks from guest speakers, activities conducted by community organizations, and more.
