Event description

Description

You’re dedicated to making a difference—however you define it—and to
supporting the success of your team and your organization. Yet, sometimes you can
lose perspective: how are things really going, and how do you need to prepare
yourself for what’s next? Self-awareness is a foundational piece of leadership
effectiveness. In fact, researchers at Cornell University found that high self-
awareness was the single best predictor of overall success among senior executives
from a range of companies.

In this lively, interactive session, we will use a short assessment to deepen your
self-awareness by examining:

  • Five key leadership capacities

  • Three common behaviors that can get in the way of your effectiveness

You’ll leave with three follow-up assignments (learning, reflection, and action) that
are designed to increase your self-awareness and strengthen your leadership.

About the facilitator:

This workshop will be led by Sara Lawson of Gauge Leadership Lab and Shorthand Consulting.

Sara Lawson, MPA, PCC, CPCC brings 20+ years' leadership experience to support organizations and
individuals with big dreams and ambitious goals. Sara is passionate about the role that mission-
inspired leaders, organizations, and companies have in strengthening communities. She also knows
that leadership can be fulfilling AND frustrating, even for dedicated, skilled, and creative people. Sara
is a consultant, coach, facilitator, and the creator of Gauge Leadership Lab. This 12-week program
brings together small groups of resourceful leaders with a range of views and experiences. The
common thread is insightful, committed, and generous people who are looking to deepen their self-
awareness, expand their leadership capacity, and strengthen their network. (Interested? The next
Seattle series starts January 25, 2019.) Sara’s guidance offers her clients the tools and inspiration to
address big challenges, do their best work, make a meaningful difference, and have fun doing it. More
