SEG's BYO Lunch and Learn presents "Finding a Home for Your Venture and an Introduction to Real Estate" with Seth Zeren of Armory Management Company.
Eventually your social enterprise will need a home of its own—whether an office, workshops, or raw space. This workshop provides participants with an introduction to the fundamentals of commercial real estate, particularly identifying and leasing space for social enterprises. Individual workshop content will be tailored to the particular needs of participants.
Participants will understand:
- The pros and cons of working with for-profit and non-profit developers
- Budgeting fir and financing real estate
- Working with professionals (brokers, architects, etc.)
- Negotiating a lease
Seth Zeren is Development Director at Armory Management Company and lives on the West Side of Providence where he is active with the West Broadway Neighborhood Association and the Fix the 6-10 Coalition. He has worked both as a public sector city planner, private consultant, and a real estate developer for over six years. Seth has a BA from Williams College and earned his Masters of Environmental Management at Yale University. He has taught sustainable urbanism and development at Boston Architectural College and traveled and worked internationally.
