In a terrible time of war, one woman must fight for what she holds dear…

Pennsylvania, 1777: War rages on in the American Colonies. With her husband off in the fight, Clara Fletcher is trying to survive on her Chester County farm. Danger lurks near and far. The future is uncertain. Then one day a wounded stranger appears in her carriage house, and he might not be what he seems. As Clara and her good friend nurse the man back to health, she tries to unravel his mysteries. All the while, the war is moving closer to her door.

Join author C.J. McGroarty to hear about this compelling story of loss, love, and determination set against the backdrop of the American Revolution. Learn about the inspiration and history behind it and what it was like for a woman on the home front struggling to keep her household afloat.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

C.J. McGroarty is a former reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer and a Pushcart Prize nominee with an MFA in creative writing. Her work has appeared in a variety of literary journals and magazines.
