Lunch + Learn: Building a Culture of Accountability (videoconference)
Event Information
Description
In the PNW, we have a reputation for avoiding conflict. We often prefer false harmony to the discomfort of open disagreement. Sometimes we focus so much on the potential risk of addressing an issue that we ignore the actual cost of unmet expectations, missed milestones, or problematic behavior.
How does that play out on your team? And how can YOU help build a culture of accountability?
This is NOT about armoring up for a blame-fest that stokes fear and inhibits innovation; it’s about cultivating a direct, humane, and results-oriented approach to addressing the issues that are holding your team back.
In this lively, interactive session, we’ll learn and practice how to:
-
Identify and succinctly describe the actual issue (which might not be what you think it is)
-
Address unmet expectations while minimizing defensiveness
-
Ask meaningful questions that foster clarity and accountability
You’ll leave with three follow-up assignments (learning, reflection, and action) that will help you approach accountability conversations with greater awareness, skill, and confidence.
