February 17, Common Toxic Garden Plants

Your garden may be a relaxing retreat, but it's not a place to let your guard down, especially when it comes to small children and the family pet. Some popular plants like oleanders, milkweed, Angel’s trumpet, and many others you prize for their ornamental beauty, can turn into toxic killers within minutes if ingested, whether consumed out of curiosity or by mistake. Learn about these and many other plants you need to be aware of, especially if you have small children or pets, and what to do when ingestion is suspected.

March 17, Unique Container Design

Whether you are a beginner or an expert gardener, container gardening offers flexibility and creativity. This program will focus on both unusual planters as well as unusual plants. The program will cover: Basic principles for all container planter, unusual ways to display plants, growing epiphytes in our climate, and choosing the right plant for the right place to be successful in your SW Florida garden.

April 24, The Fabulous Diversity of Bromeliads
