Speaker: Jillian Switzer
Presentation topic: Demystifying Drones
Synopsis: More than just remote-controlled gadgets, drones can be used for marketing, real estate, cinematography, photojournalism, data capture, precision agriculture, law enforcement, and more. But if you want to fly a drone for your business, there's a lot to consider -- what kind of drone to buy, the basics of airspace management (our speaker is a student pilot), how to get your remote pilot's license (our speaker is a licensed remote pilot), rules and regulations, and more. The business applications for drones are endless, and many have yet to be thought up. In the next 10 years, drones will create over 100,000 jobs and $9 billion dollars in social benefit in the United States alone.
About the Speaker: Jillian Switzer leads product marketing at AirMap, the global provider of low-altitude airspace management for drones. Prior to AirMap, Jillian spent 5 years in sales at Google. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration and M.B.A. in Information Systems from Fordham University. She is a student pilot of light sport aircraft as well as a licensed remote pilot of a Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K drone.
