Lumity will host its annual dinner and networking reception to celebrate its 30th anniversary and an exciting new initiative which opens the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to public school students. The event is April 1, 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Estimates show that by 2018 there will be 1.2 million jobs open in the STEM fields with few qualified candidates to fill them. To help solve this looming skills gap, Lumity has begun an exhilarating partnership with the Chicago Public Schools to reinforce their STEM curriculum with real-world exposure and experience. We are leveraging our deep roots and relationships with Chicago’s corporate and technology community to expose students to real world projects, STEM Talk speakers and career site visits. We are providing the SPARK - out of the classroom and into the real world - to ignite interest and passion.
Lumity hosts its annual dinner to honor those who have served the Chicago community through volunteerism. Lumity also honors three nonprofits who demonstrated innovative use of technology that greatly impact their organization and community. Attendees are usually senior corporate executives who value relationship building. The evening kicks off with networking opportunities but the whole evening is tailored to encourage mingling.
Please join us on April 1st to hear about this exciting initiative and its impact.
