Event description

Description

Speakers: Sam Wilson, Guy Smith and Tom Vigar

BaumanLyons have practiced Architecture, Urban Design, Research & Innovation in the Built Environment for 25 years, combining international best practice with an understanding of local needs.

As the landscape changes in construction, it is important to uncover new methods of working and move beyond limitations of the status quo. BaumanLyons constantly explores new forms of collaboration and systems of delivery – using evidence-based methodologies and other techniques such as making, digital design and co-production – to enable communities and unlock potential for Clients.

Rooted in Leeds, recent work of the practice features building projects in Leeds, Halifax, Hull, Derby, Hebden Bridge and the Yorkshire Wolds, accompanied by pioneering research (funded by Innovate UK & others) into Supply Chain Integration and New Digital Methods of building fabrication & manufacture including BaumanLyons’ file-to-fabrication building system MassBespoke™.

Sam Wilson, Guy Smith & Tom Vigar will describe how BaumanLyons are experiencing the changing role of the Architect and investigating new ways to make places to live and work.
