Seated Admission: $25 advance, $30 day of show | Standing Admission: $20 advance, $25 day of show

German-born performer and composer Carolina Eyck is widely considered the world’s foremost theremin virtuosa. She began playing the theremin at age seven and made her debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in 2002. She has given concerts worldwide and performed with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the HR-Symphony Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, the Heidelberg Symphonic Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble. She was awarded with a 2015 ECHO-Classic prize in Germany for "Concert Recording of the Year (Music 20./21.Century)” as the soloist on the recording of the Theremin Concerto "Eight Seasons" by Kalevi Aho, and has recorded for BIS, GENUINE, and Butterscotch Records. In 2016, she released Fantasias for Theremin and String Quartet, recorded with ACME for Butterscotch. On her next album for Butterscotch, out in 2019, Eyck sings and plays the theremin in her own original music. As a synesthete, Eyck experiences clear links between color and sound both while listening to and playing music, and frequently creates visual art in response to music. Since 2010, she has been the artistic director of the Theremin Summer Academy in Colmar (France), and since 2013 she has led the Theremin Spring Academy in Leipzig (Germany).

Theo Bleckmann will perform 'songs for voice, loops & toys' [voice, toys, live electronic processing]

"Vocalist Theo Bleckmann stunned the audience with his ultra clear opening in "duet for one"... He avoids fulfilling the expectations of the audience with humble elegance and technical brilliance. His intonation leaves no doubt and the diamond-sharp clarity of his three and a half octave-range undertakes great intervallic leaps, throwing in percussive phrases into semi dreamy harmonies. Beyond that he entertains a delicate sense of nuances and humor. Bleckmann's creative superiority is not afraid of pure beauty nor of overwrought fun and caricatures of kitsch." -- Norbert Krampf, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany

GRAMMY® nominated jazz singer and new music composer Theo Bleckmann’s diverse recorded work includes albums of Las Vegas standards, Weimar art songs, and popular “bar songs” (all with pianist Fumio Yasuda); a recording of newly-arranged songs by Charles Ives (with jazz/rock collective Kneebody); and his acclaimed "Hello Earth - the Music of Kate Bush." Bleckmann has most recently appeared as a special guest on recordings by Ambrose Akinmusire for Blue Note Records and Julia Hülsmann’s trio for ECM Records. In January 2017, ECM released Bleckmann’s recording with his new Elegy Quintet, produced by legendary label head and founder, Manfred Eicher. Bleckmann has collaborated with musicians, artists, actors and composers, including Ambrose Akinmusire, Laurie Anderson, Uri Caine, Philip Glass, Ann Hamilton, John Hollenbeck, Sheila Jordan, Phil Kline, David Lang, Kirk Nurock, Frances MacDormand, Ben Monder, Michael Tilson Thomas, Kenny Wheeler, John Zorn, the Bang on a Can All-Stars, and, most prominently, Meredith Monk, with whom Bleckmann worked as a core ensemble member for over fifteen years.
He has been interviewed by Terry Gross on NPR’s Fresh Air and appeared on the David Letterman show with Laurie Anderson.
