Are you tired of the 'back-breaking' effects of your daily life? Suffering from lumbar and sacral pain caused by hours spent in the office-and-smartphone-hunch or one-sided workouts?

Yoga Teachers: are you wondering how to effectively help your students heal and prevent lower back pain and sacral instability?

Suzanne Zuber will guide you through this experiential workshop to safely align your spine, open your hips and access your deep core. Includes Physical Therapy exercises and anatomy basics to strengthen and lengthen your muscles. We will apply this knowledge to Yoga poses from all pose-types, freeing and strengthening your lower back and sacrum.

You will come away with:

- knowledge about the layers of your core, and spine & hip anatomy
- techniques to activate pelvic floor, transversus abdominis & obliques
- techniques to open psoas, hamstrings & other hip flexors/extensors

Yoga Poses:

- strength-building core: navasana variations (gentle to advanced)
- armbalances (chaturanga/forearm plank et al.)
- seated twists
- standing & balancing poses (triangle pose, treepose and others)
- backbends (cobra, upward facing dog, wheel pose and others)
- modification options and sequencing variations &cueing provided.

You will emerge with more ease and lightness for everyday life, on and off the mat. Suzanne brings not only her training in anatomy and yoga-specific physical therapy, but also her personal experience of lasting recovery, through yoga, from years of chronic pain.

About Suzanne:

Suzanne’s passion for teaching comes from direct experience: a belief that yoga can turn your life around as you reconnect to your innate physical and mental freedom. Suzanne’s yoga journey began over a decade ago as a stressed-out, pained young mother and museum professional, in a German Ashtanga studio. Here, she found the gracefulness she was missing from her years of dancing Ballet; yet what intrigued her most was the peace she experienced in the practice. In California, Suzanne encountered Anusara Yoga, whose alignment-based and heart-centered method helped her overcome chronic pain and reframe her approach to life’s ups and downs.

Yoga classes with Suzanne are upbeat and humorous, challenging and reflective. She likes to interweave ancient myths (with a grain of salt), tapping into timeless universal truths as we explore asanas, pranayama, and meditation on the mat.
