Description

Join us for a guided Divvy tour of recent neighborhood bicycle projects and learn about neighborhood-level planning activities currently under way from the Chicago Department of Transportation. The guided ride is approximately 5 miles long and will include stops at various places in the Uptown and Edgewater neighborhoods on the City's north side. Bikes will be provided courtesy of Divvy, but participants must bring their own helmets and sign a Divvy waiver to participate.

TOUR ROUTE
Start: Divvy Station Located at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Broadway (NE corner)

End: Guided tour will end at the Clark & Berwyn Divvy Station in the heart of Andersonville - optional informal discussions to continue nearby for those who are interested.

GUIDES

  • Tim Gustafson, AICP is a Senior Associate with Alta Planning + Design, and works on active transportation projects throughout the Midwest. In addition to his planning and design work, Tim conducts classes on various design guides and currently serves as one of Alta's main points of contact for training requests on the Small Town and Rural Multimodal Networks Guide, which Alta authored for FHWA in 2016.

  • David Smith, AICP is a Senior Transportation Planner with T.Y. Lin International and serves as Project Manager for the Chicago Department of Transportation’s Bicycle Program. David coordinates public outreach, develops strategies for project implementation, and manages a team of engineers responsible for the design of protected bike lanes, neighborhood greenways, and other high-comfort bike facilities throughout the City of Chicago.

WAIVER & HELMET REQUIRED
Every bike tour attendee must provide their own helmet and sign a Divvy waiver. Copies of the waiver will be provided at the start of the tour and must be signed when you arrive. A Divvy bike rental will be provided as part of the cost of your ticket, but you may bring your own bike if desired.

REFUND POLICY: If you are unable to attend an event you may request a refund within 1 day of the event vis Eventbrite. Refunds will not be made available for any events with a waitlist with the exception of extenuating circumstances. Requests for a refund will be granted at the discretion of the APA CMS.
