Event description

Description

Last of a 3 part series exploring changing neighborhoods, featuring local and national leaders. Who are our neighbors? Who are we as neighbors? How do institutions like churches, schools, businesses, non-profits, etc., interact with surrounding neighborhoods? What difference does it make?

Trinity Episcopal Church is hosting a series of conversations with its congregation and the broader community, open to anyone who is interested. We believe that when we create space for openness, mutual respect, and a desire to strengthen relationships, we can create thriving abundant neighborhoods.

Last Session (April 11)

Majora Carter: Sustainable Urban Growth - Mapleton Fall Creek Neighborhood
Majora Carter is bringing her first-hand experience pioneering sustainable economic development in one of America’s most storied low-status communities, the South Bronx, to Indianapolis, specifically the Mapleton Fall Creek area. Learn what’s happening.

Mapleton-Fall Creek is the historic Indianapolis neighborhood within the triangle formed by Meridian, 38th, and Fall Creek. Undergoing gentrification and planning initiatives, it is arguably the most diverse neighborhood in Indianapolis, with a wide range of housing styles, lifestyles, and identities. Community life is anchored by major institutions (State Fairgrounds, Children's Museum, Ivy Tech, churches, etc.) and connected by a long history of community organizing.

Free & open to the public. Doors open at 5:30PM. Sandwiches and small bites available.

Limited Seating!
