Description

Why is there so much discussed around Gut Health right now?

The answer is simple… and it’s certainly not new. Hippocrates, known as the father of medicine, is famously quoted back in 360BC....

Almost 2500 years later, we are waking up to realise that our gut is indeed the foundation of our health – both physical and emotional.

With the gut wall housing 70% of the cells that make up our immune system, we now know that digestive problems are now being associated with a host of diseases. An impacted bowel can easily cause sluggishness, irritation, irritability, low energy, 'brain fog' and changes in someone’s appetite. Unreleased food and waste particles in the gut can cause mucus and bacteria to ferment and form in the colon, which might result in toxins being released back into the bloodstream when they’re circulated. This build up can play havoc with proper nutrient absorption, which can lead to low energy and other complications.

And with an estimated 90-95%% of serotonin (our ‘happy’ hormone’) being produced in the gut and a now proven established link between the gut and the brain, we are beginning to realise what an impact our gut is having on our emotional health. Studies show that the gut-brain connection plays an important part in gastrointestinal function but also states of feeling and intuitive decision-making.

Consider the important jobs your gut performs regularly, including breaking down food, keeping out toxins, proper nutrient absorption, maintaining pH balance, controlling hunger and counteracting potentially dangerous bacteria as well as producing nutrients. Our guts work hard! For optimal immunity, detoxification and nourishment, the gut must function seamlessly and needs our attention and support.

Regular gut cleansing has been used throughout history to improve the body’s natural detoxification processes, restore digestive health and improve someone’s overall quality of life.

Studies show that bowel movements are important for removing bacteria, heavy metal detox and eliminating excess fatty acids from the body. A colon cleanse can also impact the nervous system positively, which is why it might support us through feelings of anxiety or fatigue, support hormonal balance, appetite control, sleep and mental processing.

Workshop Outline
>> What is gut cleansing?
>> How does it work?
>> Why choose the doTERRA protocol?
>> Is it safe?
>> Is it right for my unique situation?
>> What support do I need to give my body while I’m cleansing?
>> How will I know what to do and when?

Join me as I run through a step by step approach to gut cleansing . I will share my tips on how I have made it work with a busy family life and share the incredible benefits it has brought me physcially, mentally and emotionally.

So........Who Am I?
I am Bryony Tilley -
a Pilates Teacher, a Massage Therapist, a Scientist, a Self-Care Guru, a Silver doTERRA Leader and a Mumma to Bella.

I have an absolute passion for empowering people to take their health and well-being into their own hands through informed and proactive self-care. Mother Nature has so much to offer us and with the guiding hands of doTERRA (the world's largest essential oil company) we can use her gifts with ease and success!

I have seen first-hand the use of essential oils to overcome countless health worries from stress management, sleep, gut issues, mood management, energy, skin complaints, hormone balance and common day-to-day issues.

I believe that to live the healthiest and happiest life we must first look at our lifestyle. It is now known and widely accepted that health is not simply the absence of disease. Nor can it be solely achieved through the prescription of pharmaceuticals. Throughout history, lifestyle factors have had a greater impact upon our health than developments in science and medicine.

We need to look at:

*Diet - we all know that whole foods lovingly made are best for us, but did you know that even with the best diet EVERYONE needs supplementation and pro-biotics to give your body the best chance to work at its peak? It is now believed that even with the purest of diets, due to intense farming methods and a depletion in the quality of soils, we can only hope to gain a maximum of 40% of that which we need from the food we eat......EEEK!

* Exercise - it is recommended to raise your heart rate for 20 mins at least 3 times a week, but exercise is so much more than that. As a Pilates Teacher and Massage Therapist I believe that movement can heal. Stuck tissues can hold physical and emotional tensions that can drain the body of resources it may need elsewhere. Move to improve mood, to give yourself a breath, to send some love to the parts of you in need.

*Rest and Stress Management - self-care needs to be top of your to-do list. Your body will continue to run and run if that is what you ask of it. We don't have a battery that powers down when we need rest. This is a great thing if you are trying to outrun a Lion, like our ancestors, but not so good if you live in a society that praises longer work hours, little sleep, stressful lives and even worse, one that links self-worth to how busy your are. When your body needs rest and it doesn't receive, it continues to run by stealing its energy from other systems. Down goes productivity and mental acuity. Down goes mood management. Down goes immunity. Down goes health at the level of each and every cell in your body. Uh-Oh!

*Toxic Load - we live in a world where we are surrounded by toxins....in the air we breathe, the electromagnetic rays from the electrical devices we use, the chemicals in our beauty and cleaning products and even in our food. Our bodies can and do handle a certain amount of toxins when we are out and about living our lives. Think of it as a tank of coping! When the tank is getting dry the body will find a way to tell you....lowered immunity, skin irritation, low mood, respiratory conditions etc....There are so many nasty chemicals out there, in our cleaning and beauty products especially, so we can help ourselves by reducing our toxic load in our own homes as much as possible. We can replace these products with more natural alternatives and BINGO the body has more in the tank to cope with what it has to! (Ps, you can top up the tank too with good nutrition...see point 1!)

So we come back in a full circle to INFORMED AND PROACTIVE SELF-CARE. This does not mean ignoring or refusing medical care. I am truly grateful to live in a part of the world where I can seek help from a medically trained professional when I need. I am a scientist at heart and advances in science and medicine are my bread and butter. I am also comfortable reading medical and scientific journals and research (of which doTERRA have done more in the last year than has ever been done on essential oils and their effect on health issues.) I am truly excited by a symbiosis of the allopathic and holistic approaches to health-care and I dream of a time where less pressure exists on heath-care systems, because we can heal our small health worries and those of our family, with natural remedies at home, so they are free to focus on the truly poorly.

I promise to answer all your questions about safety and dilution ratios and how they can be used with kids and pregnant mummas. I will show you the resources that I myself use. And I will show you the best and cheapest way to get your oils.

You will leave with information that you can utilise straight away. You will be given access to resources to continue your education and tools to take a proactive approach to your own health and well-being.

This is an educational class and I suggest you bring a notebook!
I am so looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to these true power gifts from Mumma Earth.

I love running this class. It is always such a happy and mind-blowing occasion!
With much love,
Bryony xx
