FAQs

What are my parking options for the event?

Please see the City of Orlando's parking page for information about parking. OCLS does not validate parking. The closest parking garage is the "Library Garage," which is not owned by the library. Metered street parking is not enforced after 6 p.m.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes! Please bring your printed ticket to the event. This will expedite the check-in process. Seating opens at 5:30 p.m.

Do I need a library card to attend?

We encourage all of those eligible for an OCLS library card to obtain one though it is not required for admittance. Residents of Orange County (outside of Winter Park and Maitland) can register for a library card online or at any Orange County Library Location. Those who do not have an OCLS library card may still register for this event.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Any child under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Parent/guardian must also have a valid ticket in their name to accompany a child.

My daughter is ten years old and I must accompany her to the event per library rules. Since I am not the one interested in attending, will I need a ticket?

Yes, each person will need their own ticket in their own name to be admitted. Children under age 11 will not be admitted without a parent/guardian with a valid ticket.

I am bringing my whole family. Does each person need a ticket?

Yes. Each person attending will need their own ticket in their name.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration to allow others the opportunity to attend. Tickets cannot be directly transferred to another person.

Will the event be videotaped?

The event is being recorded; by your presence you grant permission to appear in person or in voice, video or photographic presentation for radio, television, website or print media reports and/or media campaign(s) resulting from participation in an Orange County Library System event. Highlights of the event may be featured on the library's YouTube channel.

Can I bring my own book for signing?

Yes. Each author will autograph up to two favorite titles per person.

Will books be for sale?

Yes. The most recent book from each author will be available for purchase as well as some backlist favorites.

I will be arriving late. Will my seat be held for me?

Patrons who arrive after 6 p.m. will not have seats held, even if they have registered in advance. To ensure that you are able to be seated, we recommend arriving by 5:30 p.m. Patrons arriving after 6 p.m. will be allowed into the area on a space-available basis.

What time does the event end?

Once the presentation has concluded, audience members who would like their books signed will line up according to the row in which they are seated. Although the library closes at 8 p.m., those who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to remain in the library past closing until their book is signed.

Event Sales have ended. I don't have a ticket. Can I show up and see if there is space available?

Yes, we will accept walk-ins at the event on a space-available basis. Walk-ins are not guaranteed a seat, and will only be allowed into the area after registered attendees have been seated.

I still have questions. How can I contact the library?

Please call 407.835.7323.
