Four virtual classes. Four basic guidelines. A liberating context. This profound perspective will show you how you can fundamentally transform the way you relate to your marriage or intimate relationship.
Love, Marriage, & Evolution will help you discover and experientially grasp a perspective on romantic relationships that is deeply enriching, liberating, and fulfilling . . . and very different from the one we're accustomed to in our postmodern culture.
My fundamental approach to this arena of life is rooted in Evolutionary Enlightenment, a powerfully transformative spiritual path founded by Andrew Cohen. Evolutionary Enlightenment offers a developmental perspective on life that reveals a depth, space, simplicity, and unity of purpose that can rehang our values across all the major areas of our lives. It's practical. It's profound. It's uplifting. And it's eminently human, full of nuance, subtlety, and love.
How does this relate to marriage? A romantic relationship between good people who love each other starts with a promise and all too often ends up fraught with tension. Why does this happen between individuals who have all that's needed to be good partners with each other? While there are many reasons, the good news is, it doesn't have to be this way. Marriages can be a bedrock of peace and stability, respect, lightness of being - and be highly supportive of profound evolutionary development.
Discover how the perspective of an evolutionary spirituality - and its values - can make all the difference.
Four Classes, Four Essential Elements
Class 1 - A Deeper Source of Fulfillment
In this course we will open up a deeper source of fulfillment which changes how we relate to our wife, husband, or partner. When we are no longer looking to them to complete an essential lack, we can discover a powerful context for partnership, love, support, and mutual purpose.
Class 2 - What Is Trust?
Trust is a challenging issue in our culture. Many of us have lost faith and trust in our political leaders, in our teachers, our parents, mentors, bosses, and even friends. In this climate, can we turn the tables so rather than waiting for our insecure and precarious world to become safe to trust, rather than expecting our partners to prove themselves over and over to us, we discover a deeper trust in intention, purpose, and spiritual heart and from there become the steadfast and trustworthy partners for our spouses.
Class 3 - Building Culture, A New Sense of "Home"
"There's no place like home," goes the well worn refrain from The Wizard of Oz. But a home for the future is one that we must create. In this session, we take a powerful look at the values that create the secure environment we associate with home, how those values can be updated to reflect an evolutionary and spiritual context, and what "home" has to do with culture.
Class 4 - Perpetual Development & Deep Stability
Is development, change, and evolution diametrically incompatible with stability? When it comes to our marriages or romantic relationships, no. In this class, we will look at the necessity for stability, trust, commitment, support, and Love in order to create the most fertile ground for spiritual evolution.
