
Louisville’s Culture of Health: Putting Good Health Within Everyone's Reach

Those who participated in the Louisville Culture of Health Prize application process and those who want to help carry the work forward are invited to attend Louisville’s Culture of Health: Putting Good Health Within Everyone's Reach, a learning and celebration event on Monday, Nov. 7, 2-7 p.m. at the Muhammad Ali Center.
This national award recognizes Louisville for bringing partners together to rally around a shared vision of health, drawing especially on the wisdom, voice and experience of residents themselves. Chosen from nearly 200 applicant communities across the country, Louisville earned the prestigious RWJF Prize for its commitment to health equity, data-driven decision making, collective impact, violence prevention efforts, and for its innovation in engaging artists to improve health.
There are two distinct components to the learning and celebration event. From 2-5pm, the attendees will hear from individuals and groups involved in Louisville's Culture of Health Distinction. Featured speakers include:
- Joe Marx, Senior Advisor and Senior Communications Officer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
- Attica Scott, Community Coach, County Health Rankings and Roadmaps
- Tony Peyton, C.E and S. Foundation
- Brandy Kelly Pryor, Louisville Center for Health Equity
- Patricia Blackshear, Youth Violence Prevention Resource Ctr
- Shelton McElroy, Metro United Way
- Alice Bridges, KentuckyOne
- Theo Edmonds, IDEAS xLab
A reception will take place from 5-7pm and will include an unveiling of a video created to highlight Louisville's four central culture of health themes: health equity, data-driven decision making, collective impact, violence prevention efforts, and for its innovation in engaging artists to improve health. Local artists will provide performances and entertainment during this networking portion of the event which will include heavy hors d'oeuvres.
The event and accompanying reception are free and open to the public, however, an RSVP is required.
