Hack the city! See a problem? Build a solution. Using Louisville Metro's Open Data, can you hack it?

About this Event

Join us at the Speed School Engineering Education Garage on Saturday, December 7th for a Louisville Data Hack-a-day! Participate by designing, coding, or asking the right questions - all are welcome! Make an impact on the community by working on a diverse team to hack the city! Using civic data, what problem will you solve?

  • Doors open at 7:30 am, start at 8
  • Use the city's open civic data
  • Teams consist of no more than 5 members
  • 'Pencils down' at 5, judging ends at 6
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided

Schedule:

7:30 am - Doors open, breakfast (provided by Interapt)

8:00 am - Hackaday begins

8:00 to 8:45 am - Workshop on Louisville open data, courtesy of Michael Schnuerle, Chief Data Officer of Louisville Metro.

8:45 to 9:00 am - Team formation and project ideation

9:00 am - 12:00 pm - Designing, coding, working

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Lunch (pizza to be provided by Interapt)

1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Execution (more coding)

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Project presentations (assuming 12 teams at 5 mins each)

6:00 pm - Judges to award rankings - final winner announced, prizes awarded
