Welcome to another LCHE education experience. We are very excited to offer a program that includes four sessions that cover various relevant topics affecting all healthcare providers today - physician relations, insurance exchanges, and malpractice concerns and issues.

These sessions qualify for a total of six (6) face-to-face hours and the lunch hour includes 1 hour of qualified education. If you choose to only attend particular sessions, please purchase these sessions individually. You can do so by selecting a quantity of “1” for each session that you would like to attend and receive 1.5 hours for each individual session attended. The price is $75 per session or $300 for the full day.

Description: The relationship between the medical staff and administration is critical to the success of healthcare organizations. To be successful, executives must identify strategies for involving the medical staff in decision making and planning, as well as determining how to align the medical staff with organizational strategies. Given the current reimbursement environment in addition to the multitude of changes impacting healthcare, executives must proactively work with their medical staffs.

Description: Research is increasingly demonstrating that intimidating and disruptive behaviors contribute to preventable adverse outcomes, poor patient satisfaction, increased cost of care, and decreased job satisfaction of staff. The reduction of medical errors is dependent upon teamwork, the free exchange of ideas, and a collaborative approach to problem solving all of which are at risk in an environment where disruptive behavior is allowed in the workplace.

Description: The Health Insurance Exchange (HIE) is a provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. By January 2014, a Health Exchange had to be operational in every state as a new option for individuals and small employers to purchase health insurance. This session will examine the structure of federal and state HIE’s and how healthcare leaders can work effectively with these organizations.
