Event description

Description

Thirty years, almost to the day, since Agnews staged the artist’s first UK exhibition, the gallery is delighted to announce "Lotte Laserstein’s Women", a show devoted to Laserstein’s intimate and nuanced depictions of women in portraiture and the nude. This will be the first exhibition in London dedicated solely to Laserstein since the ground-breaking 1987 one at Agnews, where the artist herself was present and a lively collaborator. A particular focus of the current exhibition is to reinstate Laserstein in the canon of 20th-century art, from which she and many other women artists of the inter-war period have been excluded, and to acknowledge her as one of the great women artists of the 20th century.

London Art Week is delighted to welcome Dr Anna-Carola Krausse, expert on the artist, to Agnews. Dr Krausse will be giving an intimate talk and tour of this extraordinary exhibition.

Talk will commence at 6.00pm

Drinks reception 6.45-7.30pm

Tickets are on a first come, first served basis.
