LOST DOG STREET BAND

Lost Dog Street Band formed in the winter of 2010 after husband-and-wife duo Benjamin Tod (guitarist/vocalist) and Ashley Mae (fiddle player) parted ways with former musical project Barefoot Surrender. Originally conceived as a duet, Benjamin and Ashley quickly dedicated themselves to carrying the tradition of the American troubadour - hopping trains and hitchhiking across country while delivering their unique brand of original songwriting and tragic storytelling.

In the summer of 2011, while performing on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee, Benjamin and Ashley met Nicholas and Shannon Ridout, two skilled musicians traveling from the Pacific Northwest. Immediately inspired by each other’s music, the two groups began writing collaboratively and soon formed the band Spit Shine. The four musicians quickly built a friendship stronger than family, and together poured their blood and sweat into the music of Spit Shine. For the next two years Lost Dog Street Band took a hiatus, until Nicholas’s tragic death in the spring of 2013.

Pushing through the sorrow at the loss of their best friend, Lost Dog Street Band was resurrected with a fervency. Now doing very little street performing, Lost Dog Street Band tours the country each year, delivering their story through song in venues nationwide. In 2017 Lost Dog completed a national tour supporting The Devil Makes Three playing some of the oldest and largest theatres in America. Most recently, the group tours regularly appearing coast to coast in venues nationwide. Along the way they keep Nicholas’s work alive by sharing his music at the end of every show they play.

Drawing from years of lonely tramping, and more than one tragic loss, Lost Dog Street Band has crafted a distinct sound that is best described as ‘dark country’ that never wavers from its roots and honors the traditions of its forbearers. In the same vein as country-legend Guy Clark, Benjamin Tod weaves his melodies and lyrics together to offer listeners an unapologetically raw and authentic account of the human experience.

Lost Dog Street Band has since relocated from home base in Tennessee to Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. They are currently homesteading eleven acres of raw land.

SOUTH HILL BANKS

South Hill Banks – Lance Thomas (vocals, guitar), Eric Horrocks (mandolin, vocals), Ryan Horrocks (banjo), Dan Fiasconaro (guitar, vocals), and Matt Eversole (upright bass) – have carved a niche for themselves with their jam infused bluegrass sound. Formed in August 2015 in Richmond, Virginia, South Hill Banks pulls from a wide range of influences such as classic rock, jam, blues, to traditional bluegrass to keep audiences entertained with a blend of sounds old and new.

Since the release of their debut album, Riverside Dr., South Hill Banks has gone on to showcase at the IBMAs in Raleigh, NC, win Floydfest's "On the Rise" Competition, 2018 Rock'n to Lock'n finalist, host a successful monthly residence at The Camel in Richmond, VA, and be feature in the "On the Rise" section in Relix Magazine. SHB has created an ever growing fan base by headlining a multitude venues as well as directly supporting some of the top national touring acts in their genre.

THE BROKEN STRING BAND

Hailing from the Classic City - Athens, GA - The Broken String Band is re-defining what it means to play folk music. From its beginnings with founding vocalist Taylor Thompson and songwriter/banjo player Sean Stephansen, the aptly named band has been breaking strings with the intensity and excitement of their performances from Nashville to Atlanta since 2015. The later additions of Laura Camacho (stand-up bass) and John Phillips (drums/multi-instrumentalist) from the Athens Tango Project created an eclectic group of musicians that exemplifies The Broken String Band’s sound: diverse, unique and dynamic.

With a live performance that combines alluring, hard-hitting lyrics and harmonies with thrashing banjo, tango-driven bass lines, and the occasional accordion or flute, The Broken String Band encapsulates the feel-good vibe of acoustic jamming with a dash of classical culture thrown in for good measure. Though the group takes on the appearance of a traditional folk act as they take the stage, ample excitement lies in their unexpectedly electrifying style of performing that could feel at home at any rock and roll show. While their debut EP, Prologue: Somebody’s Daughter, demonstrates their tamer, refined style of recording, their evocative performances are as electrifying as they are emotional; you are as likely to head-bang as you are to well-up with tears, hold hands, and sway slightly from side-to-side.
