LOSS Team Conference - Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors
"Active Postvention: It's about time!"
The goal of LOSS Team is to shorten the time elapsed between a suicide death and the time survivors find the resources they need. The purpose of LOSS Team is to help relieve survivor suffering, strengthen their mental health, decrease their risk of suicide, and instill hope.
Day 1: Hope & Healing: The Aftermath of Suicide, Friday, January 27, 2017
The workshop provides an interactive forum to inform and educate on sudden and traumatic loss, with a specific focus on those bereaved by suicide. The principles of the active postvention model of suicide prevention are presented, followed by discussion opportunities on advancing an active postvention model for the community.
Day 2: LOSS Team Training, Saturday, January 28, 2017
This workshop provides attendees the opportunity to delve deeper into the active postvention model principles through the presentation of video clips of the lived experience and interactive discussion on ways to build the capacity for LOSS Team and what you may experience as a LOSS Team member. Learn how to become an integral part of the community's suicide postvention delivery and referral system and further LOSS Team plans.
