Event description

Description

An illustrated story telling of addiction, recovery, and becoming whole.

How do you become whole? is the question at the center of Losing Things, a deeply personal immersive mixed media monologue exploring one person's journey of recovery from addiction.

Alex Qin's work, half illustration, half poetry, takes us through the raw experience of a year of withdrawal one day at a time. From sex & love addiction to alcohol & substance abuse to anorexia, depression, suicidal ideation, and ultimately sobriety and healing.

Losing Things is a show in two parts

  • The first part is a self guided walk through 365 days of (with)drawings.
  • The second part is a seated performance, which begins at 8:20pm and ends at 10pm.
  • Entrances are staggered to allow all guests to experience the entire show.
  • Please arrive at the time specified on your ticket.
  • Light snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Losing Things was written and directed by Alex Qin. The show premiered at Prime Produce on December 1st 2019, the day Alex turned one year sober.

Thank you to Kurt Peloquin, Jerone Hsu, Amelia Foster, Yuko Kudo, David Hecht, Jonathan Pomeroy, and the entire Prime Produce family, without whom this show would not be possible.
